TV3 IrelandAM

Websites reviewed by Maeve Kneafsey on IrelandAM on 11th September included:

A great starting point as it gives you loads on information, ideas and suppliers to help you plan your debs. Including where to get your dress, limo, flowers, tanning, male grooming, shoes, accessories and loads more. So easy to use and to help you hone down what you want before you even start shopping.

This website specialises in MADE TO MEASURE DEBS DRESSES. A family-run business, Arielle's dresses can be made to your exact measurements. If your measurements are different to standard sizes (their standard sizes are detailed on their size guide) you can take your exact measurements and send them on. Another option available in Dublin and Belfast is to get one of their agents, who offer exclusive home fittings to show you a sample of the quality of the dresses, take your measurements and go through the options for your own order! A popular option is to throw a dress party, so you have a chance to enjoy a girly night with your friends and get measured and have a closer look at the stock they have available. This could be ideal if your debs is coming up! If you organise the party for 5 or more of your friends they will give you personally up to 50% off the cost of your dress.

If you have seen the dress you know is the right one for you on a celebrity, then this may be the website for you. A friend of mine showed me this website and if they can really do what they say, it could be the best find yet. When the celebs are out on the red carpet they copy the dresses they are wearing. You can order them, all for around €150 - €200. You pick from a good range of colours and sizes. They also show you a video of the model wearing the dress for you to have a look at how it moves! But remember she is a model with no lumps and bumps. You can send in your measurements rather than buying off the rack, and this should help you get a far better fit. I have read some feedback online saying it is good, but have not met anyone who has personally used the website. Might be worth a try. Maybe a trial run with something less important might be worth a go!

I love this website, such a simple idea to pick the style to suit you. You upload a photo of yourself and then try different looks. You can also select a celebrity style, from Jenifer Aniston to Audrey Hepburn and pick one of their styles, super impose it on your picture and see how you look. Careful - it could soak up loads of your time! There is a registration fee (about €25) so a cheaper option might be to use Google.com

If you are planning to break the bank for your debs, what about renting a pink hummer to bring you and your group to your debs! But no online booking - you have to email or call and I'd say there might be a queue!
